Our club was chartered in 1979, making it among the oldest Friendship Force Clubs. Our membership currently ranges 40-50. Our club has conducted Journeys to and welcomed Ambassadors from all parts of the world. In 2000, our club was one of the first U.S. clubs to host Ambassadors from the People's Republic of China. It was one of four host clubs that participated in the themed Upper Mississippi River Exchange. Many of our guests are pleasantly surprised by Midwestern hospitality and find a wide variety of interesting activities here. Since its inception, our club has undertaken both incoming and outgoing Journeys. Our Journeys have been to many fascinating places such as Japan, Australia, Korea, Latvia, Egypt, Taiwan, Indonesia, Costa Rica, Brazil, and China. Inbound Journeys have been from such diverse places as Cali, Columbia; Riga, Latvia; Cairo, Egypt; Irkutsk, Russia; Nanjing, China; Hanover, Germany; Akosombo, Ghana; and Fortaleza, Brazil.
